As the SYNERGY 2009 planning progresses, we are pleased to announce Jim Donald as this year’s keynote speaker.

Mr. Donald is the former CEO of Starbucks Coffee Company, having joined the organization in 2002 as President, North America and received the promotion to President and CEO in 2005. As CEO, he was responsible for all Starbucks business operations, supply chain and general administrative functions. The company experienced record financial performance during Mr. Donald’s years of service. Mr. Donald’s career includes executive-level positions at Pathmark Stores, Inc., Safeway, Inc., and Wal-Mart.

Also speaking at the conference is Mickey North-Rizza, Research Director of the procurement and sourcing practice at AMR Research. Ms. North-Rizza has 22 years of global sourcing and supply chain management experience and is a key member of AMR’s supply chain team, working to communicate effective procurement and sourcing strategies to AMR Research’s clients.

Geraint John returns to SYNERGY from his appearance in 2006 to provide the 2009 media presentation. Mr. John is the Editor of CPO Agenda magazine, the global business review for chief procurement officers and senior purchasing executives. As a business journalist, he has been covering procurement and supply chain issues for almost ten years.
