Sourcing Project Updates
Corporate United’s sourcing team and the dedicated member sourcing committees have been working diligently to make progress on the active projects over the last quarter. If you have not yet done so, consider speaking to the appropriate internal contact regarding the electrical supplies and vendor-managed staffing solution offerings to prepare for the rollouts in Q3. Meanwhile, look for updates on a rental car agreement and a small package/overnight delivery agreement. News will also follow on Corporate United’s renegotiations with Fastenal for the industrial supplies offering.
Forklifts
As the newest project on the sourcing roadmap, the forklift sourcing effort is off to a good start. Gary Como, Corporate United’s Director of Sourcing led the initial sourcing committee meeting to determine what aspects of the forklift project are most applicable to our members. The member committee is currently collecting their data so that as a group, they can better define the project scope. Corporate United’s sourcing team is in initial discussions with suppliers to better comprehend all of the possible solutions. If you are interested in providing data or participating, contact Gary Como at gcomo@corporateunited.com. Thanks to those who responded to the message board post regarding this category.
Electrical Supplies
On schedule since the Q1 update, the electrical supplies sourcing project is through the RFP stage and onto discussions with the lead suppliers. Corporate United’s sourcing team and Source One Management are in direct negotiations and working aggressively with the finalists to determine the offering. From the discussion results, the suppliers are refining their offering to best align with the needs of our membership. Expect a complete rollout in Q3.
Vendor-Managed Staffing Solution
The vendor-managed staffing solution is nearing completion thanks to the teamwork of a dedicated sourcing committee, Brightfield Strategies and Corporate United. As scheduled, phase one of the RFP went out in March, followed by phase two in April. After down-selecting the suppliers, the sourcing committee gathered for two days in Cleveland to meet with the finalists. Each supplier had the opportunity to present a proposal and give a demonstration of their technical platform. The committee is currently reviewing the final proposals and further examining the functionality of the software based on their individual requirements. Corporate United will award the business at the end of June and begin implementation in Q3.
