Corporate United Adds Coffee Offering
![]()
At the beginning of Q2, Corporate United finalized a coffee agreement with Spectrum Water Coolers. Items in the program include coffee, tea, creamers, sugars and brewing equipment. Companies that offer coffee and tea as a benefit often spend between $5 and $15 per employee per month – a surprisingly high spend for a category that is so easily overlooked.
The Spectrum Office Coffee program offers many advantages as compared to traditional office coffee service. Most obvious is the cost savings; Spectrum’s program delivers a 30 to 40 percent savings over traditional services. There is no need to trade quality for savings, either. Spectrum has agreements in place with vendor-partners such as Starbucks, Keurig, Nestle, Kraft, Bigalow teas and Bunn brewers. All products are shipped directly from Spectrum’s distribution center, allowing the company to provide a much larger range of products than would otherwise be possible. Additionally, Spectrum provides 24-hour ordering capabilities.
Delivery logistics is also a strong point of the contract. The agreement guarantees true nationwide service, as Spectrum delivers to cities in all fifty states. Instead of using a dedicated network of coffee delivery vehicles to deliver their product, Spectrum uses carriers such as FedEx, UPS and DHL that already make daily stops at member locations. This benefits the participating companies in several ways. First, it allows for increased security; deliveries are made by recognized shipping providers that have an established relationship with the company receiving the shipments. It also prevents overstocking. Typical office coffee route delivery drivers are paid commission on all deliveries and frequently overstock shelves. Spectrum’s delivery logistics are environmentally friendly on top of the other benefits. By partnering with existing carrier services, Spectrum eliminates the need for dedicated office coffee trucks, office and warehouses.
