Sourcing Projects Update
The following projects are in process;
please contact Gary Como (216-325-0415
or
gcomo@corporateunited.com) if you would
like to learn more about the progress of
these initiatives.
Packaging Supplies
The packaging supplies project is in the
final stages of supplier selection and
negotiation. The team has met in person with
the final two suppliers and incorporated the
evaluation of their respective offerings for
janitorial supplies, which the committee
decided to include after hearing from the
suppliers in November. Each committee member
is currently evaluating the individual
impacts associated with each prospective
supplier. Committee members will begin
implementation of the contract once the
category is awarded. The contract should be
available to our members in Q2.
Drug Testing and
Background Checks
The drug testing and background checks
sourcing committee proceeded on schedule and
pared down the eight bidding suppliers to
two finalists. The final two suppliers were
selected by the committee based on refined
pricing and the depth of their specific
capabilities. Committee members met at
Corporate United’s Cleveland office at the
end of February to review presentations by
the remaining contenders. Both of the
finalists boast aggressive pricing, broad
service capabilities and international
support. The sourcing team expects to roll
out the contract to the membership in Q2.
Pharmacy Benefits
Management
Corporate United’s sourcing team and the
member sourcing committee have been working
diligently to select a provider for
Corporate United’s pharmacy benefits
management (PBM) category offering. The
group met at BAE Systems’ headquarters in
Rockville, Maryland on February 23 to hear
finalist presentations. As we finalize the
sourcing initiative and wrap up the new
agreement, we encourage all our members to
begin organizing their data, so they will be
prepared to conduct an assessment of the new
PBM agreement. Our ability to aggregate the
covered lives and knowledge resident within
the group assures us the agreement will
provide a best-in-class PBM contract for our
membership. The new agreement will become
effective on January 1, 2011, and open
enrollment takes place August through
October of this year.
