May 4-6
Chicago, Illinois

Corporate United invites you to join us at SYNERGY 2010, one of the most well-established and widely-anticipated conferences in the supply chain industry. SYNERGY 2010 will be held May 4-6 in Chicago, Illinois at the Hotel Sax. Corporate United’s SYNERGY conferences are designed to educate and empower attendees while encouraging networking among the nation’s foremost procurement, sourcing and supply chain professionals.

This year’s conference boasts two notable additions to the agenda. Due to the extraordinary response to last year’s regional meetings on "Negotiating in Tough Times," Corporate United secured Charles Dominick – a leader in procurement education – to present a three-hour training session at SYNERGY 2010. The session will provide attendees with five essential purchasing best practices. In addition, last year’s CFO panel discussion provided attendees with valuable insight, which led them to request the same format in 2010, but with CPOs as the panelists. Hence, SYNERGY 2010 will include a CPO panel discussion. This is a great opportunity to better understand the thought process of procurement leadership; come prepared with questions.

Following is a select list of SYNERGY 2010 presentations. These speakers will prepare you to thrive in the new and unfamiliar post-recession procurement world.

Supply Chain 2010:On the Frontline of Economic Recovery

Marci Rossell,

The global economy is in the early stages of recovery: orders are picking up, exports are rebounding and prices are once again on the rise. Join Dr. Marci Rossell as she explains how these crucial elements of the supply-side of the economy are driving the business cycle today.

Toward the Sustainable Supply Chain: Risks, Opportunities and Critical Capabilities

Andrew K. Reese,

This presentation will explore the role of Supply Management in mitigating the risks – and taking advantage of the opportunities – presented by the paradigm change as enterprises move toward the sustainable supply chain.

Developing Category Management Results through Improved Market Intelligence

Robert Handfield,
Ph. D., Bank of America University Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management at North Carolina State University, and Director of the Supply Chain Resource Cooperative

Organizations are facing increased uncertainty in economic markets and are increasingly aware of the need to closely monitor market conditions and respond to these changes through improved supply chain strategies. As more organizations seek to build sourcing strategies to identify cost savings opportunities, they are recognizing that there are major shortfalls in market intelligence and cost modeling capabilities that form the basis for effective strategies and negotiation. Dr. Handfield’s presentation provides insights from a recent research study covering over 100 organizations implementing category management strategies, and brings to bear several important themes and insights.
