on more important actitivies within the organization. At that time, Corporate United presented the concept of leveraged buying through its pre-negotiated contracts. ATK found the idea appealing and joined the group.

As a member of Corporate United, ATK has found exceptional value in the OfficeMax (office products) and Volt Workforce Solutions (temporary staffing) agreements, which are the most broadly implemented agreements throughout the organization. Through participation in Corporate United’s office supplies program, and with very little oversight and management from its own resources, ATK has been able to focus on areas that are more complex and strategic to the business.

The Volt contract served as a jumping-off point to drive consolidation of spend for what was previously a very decentralized buy at ATK. Since joining the contract, ATK has seen a steady increase in contract compliance and has realized significant savings.

“ATK has an established National Contract Compliance program, which we’ve implemented with both OfficeMax and Volt,” says Vicky Schumann, ATK Director, Enterprise Supply Chain Management. “We’re confident that Corporate United’s office products and temporary staffing contracts are best-in-class and worthy of compliance-tracking at our sites.”

Ms. Schumann believes the ability to leverage negotiated agreements, drawing upon the combined member spend as opposed to taking a category to market on its own, is a great value to ATK. She also feels the ability to network with peers in the procurement and supply chain business to leverage the experience and intellectual capital provided by participating members is also a valuable component of the Corporate United membership.

As Director, Enterprise Supply Chain Management for ATK, Ms. Schumann is responsible for the company’s indirect spend and establishing enterprise supply chain management strategies that drive value for each of ATK’s Business Groups.

A Minnesota-based member, Ms. Schumann is an active participant in regional member meetings and the annual SYNERGY conference.

Thank you to Vicky Schumann and ATK for your dedication to Corporate United. We look forward to many more years of partnership with ATK.
