Headquartered in Mayfield Heights, Ohio and a Corporate United member since 1998, Progressive Insurance is the country’s third largest auto insurance group, offering policies on commercial autos, motorcycles, boats and recreational vehicles. The company’s total written premiums are in excess of

$12 billion. A.M. Best rates the Progressive group companies very highly, an honor that speaks to Progressive’s best-in-class operations. Ann Corwin, Progressive’s Strategic Sourcing Manager, began her relationship with Corporate United in 1999 when she became involved with the Boise/OfficeMax contract. Since then, Progressive Insurance has also implemented agreements with Volt and Konica Minolta. Says Mrs. Corwin, “The OfficeMax, Volt and Konica agreements have evolved since the beginning; the contracts are increasingly effective at putting key metrics in place that hold the suppliers responsible, both financially and in terms of service.” As the Strategic Sourcing Manager, Mrs. Corwin manages Progressive’s commodity managers as they conduct sourcing efforts for multiple business units. She has facilitated the sourcing process for everything from medical and dental benefits for Human Resources to replacement cars for the Claims Department. As she looks into 2008 and beyond, Mrs. Corwin plans to align Progressive’s sourcing projects with those of Corporate United so they can continue to leverage spend through the relationship. “Corporate United gets strategic sourcing,” she declares. Mrs. Corwin considers the knowledge gained through Corporate United’s networking events an irreplaceable element of membership. She also notes the indispensable support role that Sonda Wolfe, Progressive’s Corporate United representative, and the other Corporate United team members play. Mrs. Corwin says of Corporate United, “The talented resources they have hired over the past few years add a great deal of value to the member offerings. If they continue with the drive they have shown, they will certainly have the impact and continued success they envision.”——— Corporate United would like to thank Progressive Insurance for being such a long-standing, active member. Ann Corwin is just one of our many contacts at Progressive who has made significant contributions to the whole of Corporate United’s membership by donating their time and expertise at our networking events and by serving on member sourcing committees.
