Mid-Atlantic Member Meeting
The Mid-Atlantic Corporate United members met
on February 27 at the Sallie Mae Headquarters in
Reston, Virginia for their Q1 member meeting. The
“Green Procurement” theme directed most of the day.
Beginning with an update on Corporate United and
the SYNERGY 2008 conference, Charles Davlin,
with the help of the Director of the Responsible Purchasing
Network and others, led discussions on how procurement
fits within an overall company-wide “green strategy,”
Corporate United’s green categories, and best resources
for green procurement. The day ended with an open
discussion on how the Corporate United membership
is progressing in this matter.
For a full report on the meeting, contact Charles Davlin
at Corporate United’s Baltimore office.
Minnesota Member Meeting
On March 6 at the Marriot West in Saint Louis Park,

Professionals” and “The Importance of Collaboration,
Communication and Passion to Become a Partner
with the Business Units.” Porkert was most recently
the Chief Procurement Officer of Chevron Corp,
and he is currently the Halsey Visiting Professor at
the Engineering & Applied Science Department at
the University of Virginia. As always, the member
meeting offers an opportunity for networking with
your Corporate United peers. The Minnesota member
development team expects over seventy attendees
representing more than thirty companies for this
meeting.
